  1. Its reclaiming the queer heath, I think its on The Fuck Tree
Summer is always when it’s busiest, open-air sex on a hot summer night.

In the 1970s, Gay Liberation Front activists took a tea-trolley up there in the 1980s/90s, gay men’s groups gave out condoms and lube, and on a warm summer night, it can be delightful.

  2. don’t understand why cruising is still a thing, what with grindr, dating apps, and full acceptance nowadays of sexuality etc. nothing to do with culture

  3. Why on earth would anyone bother going to such lengths to smear shit all over this tree. Just sad

  4. I’m very lacking in context. Why are people talking about culture in relation to a log?

  5. I think, the whole reason the fuck tree is a thing is because gay culture was forced into “hidden and anonymous” places. But wider culture becoming more accepting of gay culture doesn’t mean wider culture gets to suddenly say hey, this place which is important to a subset of your community, you don’t get to use it anymore.

I like that our city is generally tended towards not giving a fuck what anyone else gets upto so long as nobody is being harmed. I don’t think there’s any harm in people who don’t want to see a woody sex orgy steering clear of the area of the fuck tree.

  6. Really hope that’s mud. Otherwise, if it’s…not mud….well…I mean….cultural is perhaps a bit generous of a description.

  7. I couldn’t count how many filled me up last time I was there

  8. Well, good! As a gay man sometimes I’m tempted to go down with a bullhorn and start barking at people who approach me

  9. So from reading the comments – summarising as accurately the satire/trolls/facts-

This is a known tree where gay men meet for sex – and people have smeared poo on the tree to stop them using it as such. And others are taking this fermented tree dog-sh1t piss smear and creating concoctions of local grown/produced Hampstead Kombucha and Black Tea products sold in local hampstead pop up stores and farmers markets…

  10. For context – This Is My Culture is a queer political protest party/rave that usually takes place annually in this part of the Health (queer people have been cruising on the health since the 19th century apparently, so it has historical significance). This year, the rave was shut down by the police but was moved to another location in east London.

  11. Someone is trying to grow mushrooms and wants to make sure nobody pilfers the fruits when they appear
