Weird that Finland was lumped in with Sweden in this article – as far as I know, land use is the only contention in Finland in recent history.
Sweden had a full on eugenics programs and cultural cleansing programs after that.
Also, possibly the term indigenous is misleading. I’m sure we all share the genetics of the early settlers of the area.
Edit: Finland is not in Scandinavia, dammit.
Indigenous people? The swedes, Danes, Norwegians and Finns are indigenous to their lands… unless they mean some of the smaller minority ethnicities like the Sami?
Also how far back are we going here? Will they look at Swedish ethnic cleansing done against Finns in Finland during the Swedish era? What about the swedes and Russians genociding the Kvens and other Finnic people around that time?
How come Sami are indigenous but not Swedes?
Sami were not treated well until recently but they’re no more “indigenous” than other Swedes, Finns, or Norwegians.
