  1. Paris isn’t romantic, if you want romantic in France you go to lyon.

If you want a romantic get away in the UK, go to Edinburgh.

  2. Hmm. I’ve never seen a grown man with diarrhea shitting on the side of street at lunchtime in Paris.

  3. r/LondonPics is such a strange sub. The comments seem to be some of the most unhinged people commenting on things they haven’t got a clue about.

    …so Reddit.

  4. I don’t know about more romantic, but definitely a better city in all aspects.

  5. Will one day Hollywood make a movie about a rat that cooks fish and chips in London? Perhaps in London a crow would be more appropriate though

  6. I will always die on this hill that London is 100% more romantic than superficial Paris.

  7. I think Paris is romantic in a heady, cultural way—but day to day, it can feel a bit abrasive. London might seem cold at first, but it has a depth and soul that makes it feel more genuinely romantic over time.

If you think of the quality of music that comes from London you’d see the kind of romance the city may potentially inspire.

  8. It’s all lovely and romantic until you get robbed at knife point by some dirty kid in a mask.

  9. I’ve been to Paris twice now. I just can’t vibe with it. Something about it just feels kinda flat for me.

  10. I have been in London with my beautiful wife who I love dearly and we have not been in Paris, so I’d say yes with 100% certainty /s

  11. Subjective af
Bermondsy can be romantic too if you try hard enough

  12. Paris – dirty, smelly, hot, full of obnoxious French people

London – less dirty, cleaner, cooler, full of obnoxious MPs (but fewer than before)

    Yep it checks out.

  13. The walks along the river Seine are sublime, the Thames not so much.

  14. I HATED Paris. The attitude of people there was horrendous.

  15. Prague and Vienna are more romantic. Paris is a shithole and London is way too busy and expensive.

But yeah, London is better than Paris.

  16. Once I was on a date and sat in piss on the Piccadilly line

  17. Yes, Red everywhere……oh, sorry, that’s the blood from the last stab victim, not Roses

  18. I wouldn’t necessarily go that far per se but my fiancée and I went to both cities last Christmas and they were both phenomenal. Frankly, you’re probably splitting hairs but I’ll give Paris the edge just based off reputation (hard to unseat it considering it is truly beautiful and has “the language of love”)

  19. Ah bien là voyons donc

    have you seen french people

*lowers sunglasses gives a stare, fixes red lipstick*

  20. Depends if ones idea of romance is defacating on a glass table then that would be Berlin

  21. I love London and choose to live here over Paris. Is it more romantic? No.

I do think Vienna is like what American tourists envisage Paris will be like than Paris actually is though.
