New york has great bones, it was obviously a prosperous town in its heyday! The market development is magnificent!!

There are significant parts of newports history all over the city and I’m so over people looking down their noses at Newport. Sure it’s got a lot of issues related to drugs, anti social behaviour deprivation. Name me a British city that doesn’t??
I’ve lived in Pill for 10 years. Some would say the “nicer’ end but nevertheless number of times I’ve been mugged/raped/beaten/in anyway attacked is 0.
I did have a car broken into but again could happen anywhere.
People shitting on Newport seems to be a popular past time for people but the vast majority of people here are good decent people just trying to survive.
And let’s be clear I’m not defending Newport because I’m from here. I’m English my husband grew up in Malpas and will never leave Newport.
Newport is my home and i would very much appreciate if people weren’t snobs about my home.
Newport City council on the other hand you can shit on them as much as humanely possible
