On the back of a very disappointing 18 months, it feels as though this summer could be a potentially pivotal one for Evan Ferguson.

A mix of injury and lack of playing time would see the Irishman make very little impact at Brighton last season. That trend continued after he joined West Ham on loan in January.

Ferguson will return to Brighton this summer, although his future remains very much up in the air. He looks unlikely to be first choice at the Amex next season, with the Premier League club having already bolstered their forward options with the pending arrival of Greece’s Stefan Tzimas.

Another loan move looks likely, with one intriguing option emerging in recent days.

Evan Ferguson Linked With Intriguing European Move

Despite his struggles in recent times, Evan Ferguson is certain to draw quite a bit of interest this summer. A number of Premier League clubs have already been linked with the 20-year old.

As well as that, another option has now emerged on the continent.

Football Insider are reporting that PSV Eindhoven have been offered the chance to sign Evan Ferguson on loan this summer.

The Dutch club are fresh off a second successive Eredivisie title, booking their place in next season’s Champions League as a result. A loan move for a player such as Ferguson might well appeal, with a player of his reputation unlikely to be within their reach on a permanent basis due to the finances involved.

It is suggested that Everton and Nottingham Forest are also keen on the Ireland international, although a move to the is certainly worth considering. Ferguson need only look at the example set by Irish teammate Troy Parrott to see how a player can rejuvenate his career with a move to the Eredivisie.

A move to PSV would allow him to play in a top performing team on the continent, one that can also offer Champions League football. It seems like an ideal fit.

This is one to keep an eye on over the coming weeks.
