Details of fuel protest tomorrow

  1. We demand the release of several comrades-in-arms imprisoned around world: seven members of the New Provo front, five leaders of the Liberte de Quebec, and nine members of the Asian Dawn movement.

  2. 1. Demand that government set max fuel price for consumers at 1.10
    2. Government introduces said legislation.
    3. Oil companies coincidentally raise price per litre to €10
    4. Profit

  3. Just checked their Facebook. Seems to be organized by those interested in rally racing. They’re saying to be prepared for a week or two, and to bring marquees heaters and tents????? 🙄

  4. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

I’m glad that the hauliers agree that the blocking of roads is a valid protest action, and I’m sure they won’t give out if this is done by other groups in the future. Groups like environmental protestors.

  5. This is not going to work, even if the government agree to it, the money they spend to subsidise these prices will be passed on to the tax payer in some other way.

  6. Hahahahahahaha 1.10!? Fuck me lads. Considering we don’t own our own oil fields I think that’s a bit extreme

  7. I feel like their expectations are a bit far out, realistically the most they can really do is lower the tax on fuel. A cap at 1.50 for petrol would be much more realistic.

  8. What a bunch of insufferable wankers. I wish the government would directly address this protest by laughing into a camera for 30 seconds. 1.10 a litre? You’d want to have some serious brain damage to think that this is rational or even remotely possible. Disrupting nothing but the honest every day citizen they claim to be championing. I hope your trucks rot with rust you ignorant buffoons.

  9. Yeah let’s all gather and waste our fuel and everyone else’s on the way to work in Dublin to protest the cost of fuel….. Wankers 🙄

  10. How organized is this shit?, im supposed to be on the roads tomorro, shud i call in sick or something?

  11. Yes! Let’s annoy the people who have absolutely no say, nor can do anything about fuel prices….

    These people…

Go and protest in front of the Dáil and blockade the door

  12. Absolute fucking DISGRACE. Who the fuck do these cunts think they are? For reference, I’ve a small construction business. We’re carrying out a refurb to a commercial business in wesmoreland st. It’s a family business (as is ours) , really lovely hard working people Has to be finished by next Friday, to allow our client to resume trading. He won’t be able to open, I won’t get paid, and neither will my men. Fucking fucking brain dead CUNTS. I’m ringing my lads atm, trying to figure out what to do. It’s really depressing.

  13. Or — and this may sound crazy — increase subsidies for renewable energy to such a level that petrol/diesel wouldn’t be competitive unless their retail price were lowered to €1.20/litre.

  14. Irish Hauliers – people who convert fuel into a service to businesses – why don’t they just raise their fucking prices like everyone else? If they think the current situation is bad, wait until they hear about the climate emergency.

  15. No thats stupid, how is it the governments fault for the prices of oil now, its so expensive everywhere. How is it meant to be realistic or even taken seriously if your asking for petrol €1.10/l 🙄

  16. You can’t expect sanctions against Russia and lower fuel prices to coexist. Increased prices on fuel is the expected price europe has to pay if we want to support Ukraine and get involved in geoplitics against Russia.

Add inflation and the demands, as people said, are bonkers. If anything Id be praying for public transport improvements to keep up or even exceed new demand.
