Louisville church hosts Black Wall Street-style Juneteenth celebration
Greater Galilee Church held a Black Wall Street-style Juneteenth celebration Sunday.The event was designed to help support Black entrepreneurship, while celebrating culture through food, music, and other activities.The point of the event is to put Black-owned businesses in the spotlight.Dr. Eric A. Johnson is the pastor at Greater Galilee Church, and said many of the people who took part in the event are what he describes as “solo-preneurs.””We’re just trying, through our Galilee Community Development Corporation, to be a bridge from where they are to help them get to where they want to go,” Johnson said.In total, more than two dozen vendors took part in the event.
