Photo is of Cromer pier, north Norfolk.
I like this beach for several reasons:
The town is nice, with a variety of little shops, pubs and eateries
The beach is nice, especially when the tide goes out as it reveals large swathes of gorgeous sand and the sea that is very shallow for a long distance
The church in Cromer has lovely architecture and it had a pair of Peregrine falcon nesting upon it at the time of this visit
The walks along the historic coastline have high cliffs, rugged walks and big skies.
A shoreline known for brilliant fossils (I found a megalodon tooth just up at Trimingham my best find ever!).
Summary; sandcastles, swimming in the sea, fossils, fish & chips, hardly any amusements to spend your millions, and a lovely pier!!!

St Margaret at cliff, can’t really remember the beach that well it was stoney. But pub at end did a massive fish and chips, and what amazed me (this was 40 years ago) they had a pint out on the wall. It was full of wasps. Core childhood memory locked in.
West Wittering is wonderful, sandy beach, my go to beach in the summer time.
I always really liked Weymouth, Chesil beach especially.
Weston-super-Mare, don’t have to worry about sand getting everywhere, no pebbles either
Easthaven on the east coast of Angus. Small, quiet, accessible and has the best public loos in Scotland.

Porth beach in Newquay. Nothing better than arriving on holiday and going to the mermaid inn for a cold cider
Bamburgh
Kynance Cove in Cornwall. It’s just stunningly beautiful
Winterton – nothing there but beach with single toilet block and tiny cafe. Walk further down and you feel like you are on your own. Dunes, pools and seals.
Lundy Bay in Cornwall. The best rock pool fishing and caves to explore.
Bantham beach in South Devon.

Bagh A’Deas, Vatersay, Outer Hebrides
Margate not the best but remember days out there when i was younger, bembon brothers/dreamland, big sandy beach, hot doughnuts and the sticky red dummy sweets, can remember i used to go thru all the bumper stickers of blokes pissing on rival football shirts as quickly as i could so wouldn’t get caught
Tentsmuir or Achmelvich.
They’re just lovely places.
Easily Tenby in Pembrokeshire
South Wales coastline, it has 2 beaches (4 if you count Castle beach and Harbour beach), lovely little town, and runs regular boat trips to Caldy Island during the spring and summer, an island with a monestary just off the coast of Pennaly.
My nan was a local, my dad grew up there, so every summer we went up for at least a week
Saundersfoot.
It’s a nice balance between a beautiful coastline and a ‘family beach’ with all the facilities you might need nearby.
There is a limited amount of parking in the town and the train station is one hell of a slog away, so it kinda hits a capacity over the peak summer weeks that never feels overcrowded, in fact you only have to walk five minutes from the main slipway to get a large patch of beach to yourself even on a 30c August day.
When the tide is in you can wade what feels like miles before it reaches your neck, but it’s deep enough to swim / paddle board in.
Sugar Sands in Northumberland.
Such a peaceful and serene beach. Lovely sand, but freezing cold water.
That or seahouses dunes
I have a favourite beach, but I’m not going to say where it is. One of the main reasons that I love it so much is because it’s usually pretty quiet and I’d quite like it to stay that way, sorry.
Boscombe
The beach on Tresco, Isles of Scilly. Forgotten the name but it’s like something in the Caribbean.
Edit because autocorrect hates me 😔
Croyde bay has to be up there. Love it.
Holkham beach in Norfolk, best in mid to late autumn when the leaves are turning and temps dropping.
Followed by a steaming pot of muscles and a pint in The White Horse at Brancaster Staith.
Crantock down in Cornwall. It’s quite secluded, there are caves down there that are nice to explore and a good pub not that far away.
Lots of family memories down there.

Abberffraw beach in Anglesey. Incredible views of Snowdonia. Fantastic and ever changing wildlife. Usually very quiet. Lovely walk over the dunes to get to the beach. Honestly one of my favourite places in the world.
Mablethorpe. Went earlier this year and it’s one of the cleanest uk beaches iv seen

No idea what my favourite beach is, but I just got back from Lyme Regis today and that was pretty cool.
Blackpool. I lost my Oakley’s on that beach when the tide was out and it was nothing but flat sand for miles in every direction. Came back a day later and found them. Core memory. Year 2000
