Norway targets four new offshore wind areas, but report says projects may need subsidies

Norway’s energy regulator has identified four more areas as most suited for future offshore wind development, it said on Monday, with the government now consulting on the findings before making a decision on which to move forward.

Norway plans to open sufficient acreage by 2040 to allow for the development of 30 gigawatts of offshore wind development, potentially increasing the country’s power-producing capacity by around 75 per cent.
