  9. While it’s great to have interceptors that work, just remember that it often cost 10 to 100x more to shoot down missiles than it does to fire them. The biggest winners here are air defense contractors.

  13. This is basically Iran trying to surrender while keeping some semblance of dignity and Trump just accepted.  According to his social media posts there will be no US retaliation.  He’s now urging an end to the fighting.

  20. Let’s be honest — this was a successful operation by Iran. They effectively issued prior warnings to the Americans and Qataris via back channels, all the missiles were intercepted without causing harm or provoking a military response from the US, but most importantly they can now broadcast internal propaganda that feeds into the strength of the regime in the face of the so-called “Great Satan.”

  22. They gave the qataris and the US prior notice so this is just for face-saving show. Not hard to prepare when they tell you in advance.
