As the world is shaken by violence and instability, the latest data from “Global Peace Index 2025”” (GPI) provide a ray of optimism among the citizens of Croatia and Slovenia.
According to the Institute for Economics and Peace’s 2025 report, Croatia is once again among the leading countries in the region in terms of security and social stability.
The list is dominated by European countries, with Iceland at the top of the list. Croatia is in 19th place, while Slovenia is in ninth place.
North Macedonia is in 51st place in the report. Albania is in 52nd place, while Kosovo is in 63rd place.
The list includes a total of 163 countries.
For years, Iceland has topped the world’s safest countries rankings thanks to an almost complete absence of violence, a high level of trust between citizens and institutions, and a general sense of security in society. Crime is extremely rare, and the police generally do not carry weapons./Telegraph/
