  1. You been in the town lately and seen what’s running about people of there face during the day

  2. If it wasn’t necessary they wouldn’t be doing it.

  3. Maybe they just think it’s funny to spend so much time and effort locking up that stuff.
They wouldn’t waste shelf space and tons of money if it didn’t make a difference

  4. I’d assume the store management has deemed it necessary, you wouldn’t go to the extra effort for the craic.

  5. They would rob them and sell them for half price most likely How many people on low incomes would turn it down? Persil being around £7 junkies clear the shelves and sell them down the pub or to market stall owners Having worked in the markets as a teenager we used to always see the junkies bringing things like batteries oil of ulay and the like sell them for £2 each- 50 bottles =£100 they would literally walk into a shop with a big canvas bag and clear the shelves not even batting an eyelid who’s going to stop them an risk a knife in the chest? That’s the problem Can’t lock them up cos there isn’t any room so a slap on the wrist and a fine they are out the same day robbing more

  6. Poor sods. Imagine having to steal Persil for cash… for drugs. That’s genuinely sad.

  7. Op are you serious? The number of drug addicts in the city center is abysmal, they steal anything they can sell on , so if you ever offered stuff or clothes for cheap your funding drugs .This type of thing is not fun for staff but sadly has to be done , Iceland are closing several shops due to costs stealing us not a blameless crime , it increases costs for us honest folk who buy from shops as you should .I am sorry but I can’t believe your being that naive ,you sound like your the type who holds up a que moaning about it to the cashier who has no say.Maybe I’m wrong and you’re being edgy to get people talking about the state of things ?

  8. It’s a bit of a sad time when the homeless are selling household products bought at 3 squid to the general public. Says more about all of us than those stealing them

  9. Crime gangs have been caught selling it to small independent shops who sell it on

  10. Yep, i work retail and the shop loses thousands on these items despite the people stealing them looking like theyve never made use of them

  11. A particular brand of dishwashing liquid & tab can be dissolved and drank giving the same effects as LSD.
It’s a current trend amongst youths in Australia as drug prices are too expensive now.

  12. Been doing that in San Francisco for years now. Druggies resell it for money. I once asked the store staff about it, she said they’d just come in and empty the shelf, laugh at them if the said anything, stroll out, no hurry.

  13. Reminds me of San Francisco. Everything in the shop was behind lock and key due to prolific shoplifters.
