The finals of the Icebreaker of Knowledge international scientific and educational initiative took place at the ATOM Museum in VDNKh (the All-Russian Exhibition Centre), Moscow. The selected participants – 27 Russian students and 20 from other countries – will go on the Arctic expedition organised by the Rosatom State Corporation, with Belarusian student Andrei Kireichuk also among the winners, sb.by reports with reference to Rosatom.

Andrei Kireichuk, along with other finalists from 20 different countries, is set to travel to the North Pole aboard a nuclear icebreaker. A rich educational program is prepared for children and includes lectures, master classes, quizzes, and various other activities.


The Icebreaker of Knowledge is an educational initiative by Rosatom aimed at talented and curious students aged 14-16. In 2025, over 63,000 schoolchildren from Russia and around 4,000 students from 20 different countries (including Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Hungary, Vietnam, Ghana, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Namibia, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, and South Africa) participated. Kyrgyzstan (471 participants), India (492 participants), and Bangladesh (841 participants) submitted the highest number of applications. The project’s finalists – 27 Russian and 20 international students – took an intellectual quiz and a team case presentation on three topics: rare earth elements, quantum technologies and bionics.
