How do both Gaza and Israel manage to survive economy wise before all the events happened?
The population of what became the Gaza Strip in 1948 was ~60,000 according to the last British Mandate Census. At that exact time, Northern Ireland population in 1948 was 1.4 million.
%80 of the current population in the Gaza Strip came from refugees and their descendants from what is today central and southern Israel. The majority came from Jaffa, Beersheba and Majdal Asqalan.

By square kilometres it’s less than half the size of Louth, our smallest county and the population at 2.3m is significantly larger than that in the north.
Also, almost the entirety of that population has been forced into the southern most part of gaza.

Yes and would you believe that Israel gave up this Northern Ireland size piece of land which is Gaza to the people who were attacking them, because they were promised peace by Hamas if they did it, and then Hamas double crossed them and just kept on fighting anyway.

5,759 of those killed since Israel violated the ceasefire with Gaza in March.
132,000~ injured.
Yet look how quick the world superpowers have got involved to de-escalate Israel-Iran, and how quick even Trump has been to publicly condemn the breach of their ceasefire.
Those guys need condoms more than food.
Now imagine 2 million people stuffed in a space half that size and that’s where Israel wanted them to stay for months.
Israel, Palestine/occupied territories is such a small territory (and no natural resources) in their it should have been easy to draw up a set of borders that make each side happy.
One major issue is that “israel” divides west Bank and gaza and so any Palestinian state would not be contiguous.
The USA has mot done Israel any favours on long run by not trying to get/give the Palestinians a better deal than the one from the 1990s (which was never going to be accepted by the Palestinians and wider muslim/Arab world regardless whether it was signed on paper.
Only drastic solution might be some equitable ethnic cleansing. Israel gives up parts of Northern Israel and Israelis leave and Gawande settle, which joined with west Bank and half of Jerusalem becomes Palestine and a smaller Israel gets all of Gaza, which northern Israelis get to live in (in theory)

I visited Jerusalem in 2016. On one of the days there was a wedding ceremony taking place at the Al Aqsa site. We went over to give our congrats to the family. The brides father who was 60+, told us this was the first time in 25 years he was able to visit Jerusalem.

The same pollution as Northern Ireland and Gaza was able to house all those people in that small strip of land before the war and destruction. I didn’t realise the size of Gaza to Northern Ireland. The government here can’t even find land to build houses or new LARGE developments to house the pollution here. Gaza is unfortunately lost and never coming back. Come 2050 Israel, we own it all. With Trump Boulevard named along the new beach resort area with all new hotels. Sorry to say this, but it’s true. Both about our government and Gaza.
