I've seen several model goats like the one in the image in gardens when walking through mountain villages. Often a small family of goats in a row in front of a chalet. I think this one was in Bettmeralp. Does anyone know if these are commercially available? If so, where I can purchase a small wooden goat family from? My online searches have been unsuccessful.   1. That’s form board cut with a band saw and painted. They have very small but good quality wood ones in toy stores. I forgot the name but it’s a brand who makes wood animals and they usually have the swiss animals like the 50/50 goat and black nose sheep. But it’s very small, not something to put in a garden.

  4. Thanks for the feedback. They are just painted wood, but as I’d seen five or six groups of identical goats in different places, I’d assumed they were commercially made, but perhaps there is a local goat maker who is populating the Aletsch Arena with them? I’m after model goats that size and style to go in our garden. Maybe I’ll have a go at making some myself…
