Russians Are Fleeing to the Country Putin Invaded Before Ukraine

  1. in a sense those fmr soviet republics have a bit of stockholm syndrome vs the russians. Those same russian immigrants who are now feeling vulnerable will end up marching in support of great mother russia, like they do in other expat communities, like they do in cyprus. It s a very strange dynamic of unwarranted superiority that is subconscious. Nobody can blame georgians for not liking this very much (if anything i d expect them to be more assertive). Russians, expats or not, should not be given the same free pass that displaced war refugees get

  2. I used to follow a bunch of Russian YouTubers and every one of them lament the war in Ukraine but 99% of their complaints have to do with how it has dried up their income streams.

My gut feeling tells me that the vast majority of Russians, no matter how well informed they are, support their countries’ actions in Ukraine.

I once upon a time had sympathy for the common Russian in the streets, but now I have none. Sanction them to the Stone Age.
