  4. The wealth disparity complaints miss the real issue. The challenge isn’t identifying the problem – it’s implementation.

    How do you tax unrealized gains without:
    – Forcing asset sales to pay tax bills (creating artificial market pressure)
    – Penalizing long-term investment and entrepreneurship
    – Destroying venture capital funding for startups
    – Making the US uncompetitive for global investment

    Most proposals ignore that unrealized gains aren’t liquid cash. Taxing paper wealth means either forced liquidation (market manipulation) or accepting IOUs from taxpayers. Both scenarios would crater investment markets and drive capital overseas.

    The technical execution matters more than the moral argument.
