League of Ireland match official Rob Hennessy will referee Thursday’s UEFA under-19 championship final between Spain and the Netherlands in the Giulesti Stadium in Bucharest.
Irish assistant referee Christopher Campbell will run one line with an Austrian official Michael Obritzberger running the other line.
Hennessy has been officiating at the tournament this month. He took charge of Spain’s 1-0 win over Denmark last week and rather than a Friday night League of Ireland fixture last Friday he was the ref for the Netherlands v England in Bucharest that saw the Dutch side win 4-2.
He was fourth official on Monday night in Spain’s 6-5 win over Germany.
Thursday’s final is the chance for the Netherlands to win their first ever European final at this level. Spain are nine time winners in this age group. Both sides come into the final having won all four of their tournament matches.
