  1. June 22, Ternopil.  A funeral was held for a former police officer who took up arms to defend Ukraine,  Oleksandr Vinichuk. His life was cut short on June 20 near the village of Ivanopillia, in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region, during a combat mission.

Family, friends, special forces colleagues from across Ukraine, gathered to honor his memory.

“Oleksandr was one of those people whom you respectfully call a true professional. He had nearly 25 years of service in law enforcement. He never took the easy road, instead building his career in elite special units — where the demands are highest and the work is toughest.”

Since 2014, he had repeatedly participated in combat — both in the ATO and JFO zones. After the full-scale invasion began, he served on some of the most dangerous front lines.

Oleksandr Vinichuk was laid to rest with full military honors at the Alley of Heroes. Following the ceremony, a farewell volley was fired over his grave.

  3. Giving a flag to a widow. It must be the hardest thing anyone ever has to do.

  4. God damn this hits hard. I hope you find strength and someday peace in this most difficult time. 🙏🏼
