I’m so sad that teaching is like this. A couple friends of mine are ex-teachers and have vowed never to return, another is going on with it but I worry she might rip out her hair with stress.
I never went into teaching but I feel drawn to it as a moral good. I’m old enough and skilled enough to feel like I have a lot to pass on, I’ve done it in the workplace and the fruition is compelling. But why would I trade not being treated like crap for being treated like crap? I wouldn’t.
It’s going to be a very interesting countries with no teachers, doctors or nurses.
Pretty sure every single member of staff is on antidepressants at least.
When I was working too hard I found the best pills were dexamphetamine if you can get and ADHD scrip or get the off someone who has; or failing that Modafinil which is cheap and easy to obtain. Made 16 hour days a lot more practical, and kept me ahead in the rat race. Don’t take them so much now I’m semi-retired.
