> “Tom runs the set,” he added. “I was really there for like five minutes, but what I observed was, he was like the first AD on the set…. I mean, he was such a leader.”
> Although, the pair didn’t initially start off on the right foot.
> “The first moment I had with him, I arrived, they were shooting, and I was talking to the writer… We were just kind of mumbling while they were shooting, but they could hear us,” Cera said. “It was just like 40 feet away. And Tom Cruise looks at me, I’ve never met him, and they’re in the middle of a take and he looks, and he goes, ‘Is that Michael Cera talking during a f—ing take?'”
> He continued, “He was joking, but it was also like, ‘Do shut up,’ you know? But so surreal.”
what movie does cera have coming out?
He should do a movie with Christian Bale.
It sounds like to me Tom Cruise has always been an utmost professional because, well, it’s his JOB. Imagine if every coworker you had took his job as seriously as Tom Cruise.
Honestly surprised cruise knew who cera was
I can see that, there’s a lot of peoples time you’re wasting, a lot of money you waste.
Scenes have to get reset, continuity has to be redone, and if there’s a stunt involved yikes.
It’s just disrespectful to everyone there
Bale was right
Cruise was right
The Actors are working, stop fucking with their workplace. It’s better paying, sure, but it’s the same for any other job. Interrupting the flow, getting in the fucking way without any good reason. It’s obnoxious and it wastes everyone’s time.
If you’re on a set, you should know that if someone is doing a take, you shut the hell up and remain as still as possible. Not only is it respectful to the actor performing, but you can easily ruin a take by not doing so.
Doesn’t matter if your another actor speaking with the writer, if someone doing a take, you shut up. If you need to speak with the writer that urgently, go off lot or far away from the action. Don’t care if you think you’re “mumbling from 40 feet away.”
>I was like, ‘Hey man, it wasn’t me, it was the writer.’
Cruise should have jumped on him even harder for trying to throw the writer under the bus. Such a douche move.
So when the director yells “Quiet on the set!” in cartoons and old tv shows, it was all a lie?
Ohhhh good for you!!
One of the most frustrating things I’ve had on a set of mine have been people not knowing when to keep their fucking mouths shut and ruining takes. Absolutely maddening and unprofessional
Cruise is .. many things. Among them, he is a seriously professional actor.
I mean
He’s right?
With the care and precision of the on-set audio process I’m surprised a good number of people didn’t read him the riot act.
Seems like a fair call out. Shut up while filming as far as I know is an expected thing to do.
He was in character from Tropic Thunder. Goddamn clickbait
Michael Cera: “I wasn’t even working that, I was just walking by”
Too bad Cruise is a cult leader. Horrible human being
Wasn’t that the last thing Shelley Miscavige heard?
Maybe he should shut his fucking mouth then
He’s famous and he talked to me.
Tom Cruise is insane, but all the stories about him show him to be a total professional on set.
Didn’t Cruise get pissed off because someone farted while filming Valkyrie
Honestly good for Cruise. Talking on set is bullshit
Tbf tom cruise takes movies INSANELY seriously.
Him during COVID was actually really interesting. Two people broke protocols and he fucking obliterated them for risking everyone’s jobs. Not his, everyone else.
I can’t wait until I can go more than 20 minutes without hearing about Tom Cruise
The story that Michael Cera tells makes it sound like Tom had every right to call him out. Cera’s actions were very disrespectful to the entire crew to be fair. Cera was talking during a take loud enough for the actors who were being filmed in the scene to hear his conversation with the writer. He was talking 40 feet from the actors. That’s not whispering.
