Scotgov should not be making decisions regarding local economic support based on foreign policy concerns. Foreign policy is not devolved.
I hope any defence company denied a grant on such concerns has the decision judicially reviewed as ultra vires.
It falls to UKgov to block support of specific exports to israel, or other unsuitable regiemes, where appropriate.
By that logic, any nation (100+) using a Boeing 737 is complicit in genocide as Boeing produce munitions which Israel, amongst many others, use.
What is there that’s produced in Scotland or even the UK that’s supplied to Israel by these defence companies?
You see stories like this a lot but Leonardo, BAE, Thales are all massive multinational companies and I don’t think I’ve ever seen specifics. It would be interesting to see a full list.
