    Every time I see Orbán I wonder if the etymological origin of that phrase lies in Hungary?

  11. NATO is held back by the requirement for unanimity. Every member has to agree for a decision to be made. A supermajority would be the way to go. Ukraine should be a top priority since they are now the most experienced country when it comes to fighting a modern war.

  12. Weird attitude. Ukraine has (With support) kept an overwhelming invasion at almost a stalemate for years. I don’t think many NATO countries could do that on their own (Or with support, but not direct involvement of others). An ally like that would be invaluable to a military alliance, or so it would appear to me. Sure, Putin will get angry but who cares.

  15. Unless they rig the elections, all signs point to Orban losing the next elections decisively. So there is a glimmer of hope that soon this clown will be away from decision making

    Ukraine 37 million.

    Ukraine is about the size of population of California or Canada .

    Canada has been a long time member of NATO since it’s beginning.

    Ukraine is keeping Russia out of the rest of Europe. They are holding the line. They are upholding democracy.  Hungary would fold like a house of cards if they were invaded.  

    I think Ukraine deserves to have a spot in NATO. They are preventing Russia from expanding further.  That was the whole point of NATO. To prevent expansion of any country into another.  

    Who cares what Russia threatens if we let Ukraine into the alliance.

  29. Why is the welfare state of NATO able to even influence these decisions. They should be sitting quietly in the corner while the adults speak.

  34. Democracy is powerless to deal with autocrats. We need some hard executive power in the EU to deal with these turncoats.
