  1. Jings he’s in hot water, then again three and half years, is not a particularly steep sentence…

  2. Step 1: pay some Indian tea farmers to legally change their names to “Scottish”

    Step 2: profit

  3. It’s mad that he got almost the same amount of time as the kid who punched a bus driver to death.

  4. > He claimed to have developed a “special biodegradable polymer” that would make the tea plants grow in half the usual time. The court was told it looked just like a black bin liner.

  5. 😂 Just got to laugh at how gullible some people are. Just found out you can actually grow tea in Scotland.

  6. Just saw an article further up my news feed about a guy who murdered someone on a train for brushing past him – he got 6 years for that.

    Clown system.

  7. I’ve seen people get suspended sentences for a lot worse that involves multiple crimes like multiple burgalry, multiple car theft, serious fraud in a heap of offences. This guy gets three and a half years for switching labels on the tea he’s selling? What damage did he do here to get sent down?

I do ‘t condone the guys actions but that’s an absolute piss take to be honest considering the above.

  8. I feel like the ‘victims’ need to spend the rest of their careers getting asked “aren’t you the one who signed a £20,000 invoice for tea grown in the Scottish Highlands?” for having the neck to bring this to court.

  9. This guy repackages tea and tells luxury hotels it’s Scottish to make money, 3 years in prison. Corporation advertises rebottles water and advertises it comes from the mountains, profit. That doesn’t seem very fair.

  10. >The 55-year-old, who was known to his many customers as Tam O’Braan, spun an elaborate backstory claiming among other things that he was a former bomb disposal expert, had lived in the Amazon and **had invented the “bag for life”**.

    Lmao
