I remember that awkward RTE interview where they didn’t have a clue about Kellie and obviously didn’t know who her partner was
I found it refreshing during the olympics and the aftermath of it (at least as far as I saw) that Katie’s sexuality was not mentioned at all.
It’s one of the real advantages women’s sport has over mens. Hopefully we’ll reach a point where there isn’t the same hoopla over gay men in sport.
It was very funny watching her girlfriend try to hold pads for Katie when she was training in her home during lockdown on RTE horizon documentary. She looked terrified!
