Some people say appeasement and stroking ego of Trump will help. I believe Trump consider strokers and suckers as beneath him, so he continues doing what he’s doing. What’s the reality? So far it’s been all talk and no action. Trump is pandering, and likely coordinating things he can say with Putin so it’s less obvious he’s a Russian stooge.
We’re going to be back to “but Trump is tough on Russia!” BS while he simultaneously relaxes sanctions and backs out of any arrangements holding Putin accountable.

Trump gave a speech at the G7 about his buddy putin until he was cut off. Is he off his meds again?
