Not only are phones banned during lessons, they're also banned during lunch break and later on on recess as well. I'd love to hear peoples opinions, personally I'm absolutely on board on the ban during lessons, and I'm waiting to see how things go during lunch break and recess. How glued on to phones are kids during those times right now? Maybe this'll help them be more social and learn important social skills.

  1. Bring back old school. The poor kids minds are glued to phones atleast they know early on they can survive without phones for a few hours.

  2. I remember in middle school recesses, some people would just play cards. This was in 2018-ish

  3. Schools are for learning social skills as well as everything else – it’s not a good look to allow kids to stare at their phones whenever there’s a break from studying. This will also prevent tons of cyberbullying as pupils cannot freely film or message each other during the school day.

  4. I think it is worth trying to see what happens. I am more positive than negative about it.

I don’t want to be very radical sounding, but as a teacher [with prior 6 years of experience in secondary education], I disliked it when people hung up on phones. I was always very passionate and was able to keep people’s attention. But I believe results could be overall better without nonstop tiktok insta bullshit.
