Few hours ago, this unusually large pigeon landed on my balcony and hasn't left since. Its color is quite different from the usual city pigeons, and even when I try to scare it away, it just flies off and comes right back.

I noticed it has a black tag on one of its legs. Does anyone know what that might mean? Is it trained or someone's pet?

  3. The ring shows a combination if letters/numbers that can help find its owner. This is a special breed which only has one ring.

[BDRG](https://www.bdrg.de/fuer-sie/taube-gefunden) might be able to find the owner of you contact them with the string. If you are able and willing to catch it and keep it for a short while.

  4. It’s a “selbstreproduzierender Kleinflugkörper auf biologischer Basis mit festprogrammierter automatischer Rückkehr aus beliebigen Richtungen”.

  5. That’s the the super rare goldene Taube! If you bring it together with a rare schwarze Taube and an even rarer rote Taube they will merge into the legendary fette Henne of the Bundestag that will grant you Einigkeit and Recht and Freiheit – unconditionally.

  6. It’s under probation. With it’s identification number you can access it’s criminal record and contact it’s probation officer in case of an altercation

  7. It means it’s been trained to be a government spy

Look it even has that trademark Merz stare

  8. That’s a spy pigeon…Someone is spying on you 😂

  9. People who breed birds put the leg rings on their birds to better identify them, like to differentiate between a male and a female, birth year etc.

This pigeon likely escaped their cage and will very likely die due to predators.
