Vietnam and Poland have been exploring new ways to deepen their cooperation in tourism and sports, focusing on opportunities to strengthen direct flight connections, streamline visa processes, and enhance business exchanges between the two nations.
During a working visit to several European countries on June 23, a Vietnamese delegation met with Polish officials in Warsaw to discuss how the two countries can expand their collaboration in these sectors. The talks primarily focused on advancing bilateral ties and identifying key areas for future development.
Over the past 75 years, the relationship between Vietnam and Poland has grown significantly, based on mutual respect and cooperation. During the meeting, officials from Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism underscored the success of this long-standing partnership. A notable recent development in the relationship has been the Vietnamese government’s decision to grant visa exemptions to citizens of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland for tourism purposes, which has already led to an increase in tourist arrivals from these countries.
The discussions explored several initiatives designed to further boost tourism and business exchanges. One of the key proposals was to enhance connectivity by establishing direct flight routes between major cities in both countries, which would facilitate easier travel for tourists and business professionals alike. Additionally, there were talks about improving communication and collaboration between businesses in the tourism and sports sectors to create a more cohesive and efficient working relationship.
Another area of focus was the potential for increasing the number of exchange delegations between Vietnam and Poland. These exchanges would help build stronger ties by sharing knowledge and expertise, while also addressing any challenges that may arise during the course of cooperation. The goal is to foster a dynamic partnership that will yield long-term benefits for both nations.
To further enhance tourism relations, the Vietnamese delegation extended an invitation to Polish officials to attend the ITE HCMC International Travel Expo, a major tourism event in Vietnam set to take place in September. This exhibition provides an excellent platform for both countries to showcase their tourism offerings and explore further opportunities to strengthen their cooperation.
Poland’s strengths in various sports, such as volleyball, martial arts, kickboxing, football, and winter sports like skiing, were also discussed during the meeting. Recent collaborations between Vietnamese sports training institutions and Polish training establishments were highlighted, with both sides emphasizing the potential for continued growth in these areas. There was a strong focus on strengthening cooperation in the training and exchange of coaches and athletes, particularly in disciplines where Poland has established itself as a leader in Europe.
The Polish officials expressed their appreciation for Vietnam’s efforts to promote tourism and sports and reinforced the importance of continued collaboration. They praised Vietnam as a friendly nation and a prime tourist destination within Southeast Asia. They also acknowledged the positive impact of the Vietnamese government’s policies, particularly the recent visa exemptions, which have played a key role in increasing tourism and business activity between the two nations.
As part of the visit, the Vietnamese delegation also conducted a separate meeting with the head of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. In this discussion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across various fields, including culture, tourism, and trade. The meeting underscored that there is still untapped potential in tourism collaboration, and both parties expressed their eagerness to take concrete steps toward building a more robust partnership.
Polish tourism businesses were particularly eager to strengthen their relationships with their Vietnamese counterparts, with a strong desire to increase two-way tourism exchanges and explore a broader range of collaboration opportunities. The Vietnamese officials welcomed these initiatives and encouraged businesses from both countries to actively engage in developing cooperative networks that will benefit both sides. In this regard, Vietnam expressed its readiness to support international partners with flexible visa policies, marketing assistance, and the development of travel products tailored to the preferences of Polish tourists.
These discussions signify a growing recognition of the untapped potential for collaboration between Vietnam and Poland. With continued effort from both sides, the partnership in tourism and sports is set to grow, bringing mutual benefits and creating more opportunities for both nations to showcase their strengths on the international stage.
