On the night of June 26, Russian forces launched an attack on Bilozerske, using a “Geran-2” drone that struck a five-story residential building. This attack caused a fire, resulting in five local residents being injured, according to the Donetsk Prosecutor’s Office.

The residents of the building shared their memories of the terrifying moments during the shelling. Vadym, one of the injured, shows the damaged windows in his apartment, which he plans to cover with plastic film.

“Several panes were broken here. Three here, four there.”

The man recalls that he was asleep when the shelling began:

“I was at home. I opened my eyes, there was a flash and then debris fell, it rattled, fire was burning. Terrifying.”

In the morning, cleanup and window repair work continued at the site. Yana, who came to help, says:

“We cleared the branches, now the bricks are piled up in one heap. Maybe people will restore it; somewhere to hide will be needed. We’ll help and wait for the emergency services.”

The shelling began around two in the morning. Klavdiya, another resident of the building, says she got out of bed when the windowpanes started flying:

“I was lying down when the windowpanes started flying, then I got out of bed. It hit there – there’s a hole in front of the entrance. The canopy was torn off and is lying on the building across the street.”

Klavdiya notes that only one of her windows was damaged, her furniture remained intact, and she was unharmed. There was no fire in their entrance.
