Why do people do this ?

  1. Because they are unrespectful, and haven’t received a correct education from their parents.

  2. There’s an aspect to graffiti that’s about getting your name out there. It’s as much about being seen as it is about making good art. I think they could fuck out the former and just focus on latter, but it’s an ego thing that is rife in the culture.

  3. I was passing a mural in Cork yesterday. It was “Positive people live positive lives” for people who are HIV positive. Someone wrote their tag right in the middle. Then a few feet to the left of the mural where the wall was blank he wrote his tag again. Was the tag to the left not enough? Why deface the mural!?

  4. Immaturity…Boredom…general disregard for their environment. Maybe we should use their skills and send them to Ukraine to identify/mark Russian equipment.

  5. Some people have to take the bus because they either don’t own a car or choose not to drive every day. This is normal

  6. Because other people who hear you criticise it will say something like ‘Ah here, graffiti is a perfectly acceptable alternative art and means of self-expression; let’s not be so small-minded now.’
