understand that the united states plays an important role in the world i am thrilled that the united states is trying to police the proliferation of nuclear weapons imagine what the world would look like if if it was otherwise and i will say the united states would still be the only country that has ever bombed another country with nuclear weapons and let me ask you one question why did the iran hostage crisis take place the so certainly fundamentalist radicals took over the government who hate the west why did they take over the government why because they they’re religious jihadis who want to eliminate western society they hate our way of life they hate our way of life or or they overthrew the sha of iran who we imposed on iran because the dulles brothers one at the cia and one at the state department decided that the oil beneath the soil of iran belonged to bp and belonged to us and when mosedc who was the leader of iran the democratically elected leader of iran said that we would like to audit bp because we want to know if you are cheating us or paying the people of iran based on the oil under their soil and they said you may not audit us and then we overthrew him and he wound up dying in prison because we decided that we in our arrogance as a country got to own their oil and wait a minute no one moment one moment and so the hatred of the united states had to do with the hatred of the sha who brutally repressed the people of iran for 26 years until he was overthrown within iran because he was not their natural king they didn’t want a king any more than we wanted a king the bottom line is the arrogance of the united states’s foreign policy we act as if people act in a in a vacuum and that nothing we do has ever led to the the hatred of us in other countries and i’m not saying that hostages should take but you just said for because they hate our freedoms that’s bs they hate the western world let me just

    The US citizens' long standing narrative has departed significantly from the factual evidence.

  20. I'm actually shocked that she knows this. In my life, time after time, I've met individual Americans that claim a love for history, but still falls for the rhetoric that "Muslim countries hate us because of our freedom". They only believe this because they're unaware of our exploitive, and predatory history.

  23. Actually the history of the first Shah in the Pahlavi family goes back to the 1800s. The last Shah of Iran was not born into royalty. The Pahlavi family didn't become the country's ruling family intil 1925 (or about). And this also wasn't agreed upon by all Iranians or Persions. Hell, the last Shahs mother wasn't even Iranian. She was Azerbaijani by birth and emigrated to modern territorial region of Iran when they had to give over land to Russia (that included Georgia and Azerbaijan) during the Russo-Persian war.

    Bottom line is the Shahs father became Shah after a coup d'etat which was given to him as the 2nd Shah of the Pahlavi family, passed down from his family. He became Shah through force so it was never a fully recognized position by the people of Iran. The Ayatollah on the other hand is a position originated in the 19th century and is earned through study and education. Like a Doctorates position on the US. There isn't just 2 Ayatollah. In fact because the standards have continued to change over time, today there are 10s of thousands of ayatollahs in the Shia sect of the Muslim religion. But I'm getting away from this original conversation.

    Just know this. The last Shah of Iran wasn't some ruler by election. His family wasn't royalty by blood as one would think in the Muslim religion or territorial heritage. His father created the domain and the US propped it up to reap the rewards of the natural properties. And though Iran may have been most prosperous during the last Shahs time, he was never seen as the rightful ruler by a large contingent of Iranians.

She is so deluded and insane she thinks that radical, fanatical Islamic fundamentalism is better than American Imperialism. Look at life in the early 70's under that Sha. Look at all the photos of women under the Sha in normal female clothing. Sure he was a asshole, but was a choir boy next to what the Iranians have been living under since the Sha's murder by fanatical Islamic doctrine. It is an oppressive murder cult. Women had rights back then. She is beyond disgusting with her ignorant gaslighting lies. The Sha, even with all his "oppression" was a million times better than any oppressive fundamentalism now. If she thinks American Imperialism is so bad, why does she remain here? She could just hop a plane and move to Iran. I'm sure the Jihadists would welcome her with a Burka and tape her mouth shut.
