Had a look there at two non-expressway routes in Cork, neither have been reduced.
Have taken a long time to implement the rail reduction, not applying to everywhere till next month. Still no sign at all of progress on flexible commuting tickets either for those outside Leap zones, despite 2 years to plan for it.
Why not in Dublin?

Edit, just read the end doh!

“A reduction in public transport fares will be introduced in the Dublin area and on all other subsidised public transport services across the country next month.”
Good news. I’m surprised because all I’ve seen are price increases lately
Yep. Fuck Donegal again.
I do hope in future they explore more ambitious fare reductions/free travel. 20% is nice like but when you consider costs in other countries its really not much. This is a welcome step tho.
Already happened for monthly tickets. My monthly pass for April was €68 compared to €84.50 last month. Now if Bus Eireann could just improve the reliability of their services in Cork I’d be a happy man
Great ! – now all we need are some buses !
This is great!
Apparently, it’s taking a while to implement because the ticket machines are not networked and so someone has to adjust every single one manually, according to [Eamon Ryan on Twitter](https://twitter.com/EamonRyan/status/1513450465245245442)). Wow.
He says they’ll start rolling out new ticketing machines which will be networked (and so also be able to accept contactless payments from cards and Google/Apple Pay!), but it looks like those won’t be coming until 2025 according to the [DoT plan](https://assets.gov.ie/220937/a3246ab6-bb74-42f1-8fa1-ccac26780673.pdf))
