TLDR:
* Whether dressed in a simple tee or a dazzling gown, [Princess Diana](https://people.com/tag/princess-diana/) defined royal style — and now, more than 300 of her iconic fashion pieces are up for auction in what’s being billed as the largest collection of her wardrobe ever to hit the auction block.
* Hosted by Julien’s Auctions, [*Princess Diana’s Style & A Royal Collection*](https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/auctions/princess-diana-s-style-a-royal-collection) takes place on Thursday, June 26, at the Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles. The landmark event showcases an extraordinary array of fashion from the late Princess of Wales, including some of her most iconic gowns, impeccably tailored suits and signature accessories.
* Among the standout pieces is a vibrant blue floral dress —[ nicknamed the “Caring Dress”](https://people.com/princess-diana-favorite-dress-to-sell-record-breaking-amount-largest-ever-auction-11761486?utm_campaign=peoplemagazine&utm_medium=social&utm_source=reddit.com&utm_content=comment) — that’s expected to break auction records. Designed by Belville Sassoon in 1988, the silk gown carries a starting price of $100,000 and an estimate of $200,000 to $300,000 — but Julien’s co-founder and executive director, Martin Nolan, believes it could soar past the auction house’s previous record of $1.14 million.
Of i had the money, I’d love to get the wedding dress sketches, and the honeymoon hat. I don’t really need the clothes, but those would make a nice little collection.
I don’t remember that black dress from 1981.
Seeing everything laid out on the site it all seems so…basic.
Who owns all these items now?
Gosh, I hope Meghan buys a bunch of it and starts casually wearing those dresses for her Instagram posts. It would make so many heads explode.
I love that dress so much. After she died, there was a tour of 10 of her dresses and they came to Pdx OR. I saw them and started crying. Even my husband teared up. She was iconic.
was NOT expecting this birthday card in the bunch, LMAO!!! https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/items/1193835/princess-diana-signed-birthday-card
Some of the Christmas cards are pretty reasonably priced.
Low prices for the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
I am kind of sad that these things won’t be in museums
