He noted that the selection process for the head of airBaltic is continuing, with the nomination committee having evaluated more than 40 applications from nearly 30 countries.

Martinovs predicted that the next assessment stage could last up to two months.

After its completion, the nomination committee will forward the candidates to the third stage of selection based on the results of the assessment.

The announcement of the competition for the position of CEO of airBaltic, which was published on 30 April, did not mention the salary for the position, but the airBaltic board has previously indicated that the salary will be an individual matter to be discussed with the selected candidate. In 2024, the airline’s former CEO Martin Gauss earned €838,568.

Until the competition is concluded, the airline will continue to be managed by its current interim CEO and Chief Operating Officer Pauls Cālītis.
