    * Melinda, 60, is an American billionaire philanthropist, the founder of Pivotal Ventures and co-founder of the Gates Foundation.     My cousin is an oncologist and there are no “good” cancers in the abdominal area.

    We have no idea what she is going through and may feel very guilty in the future.

  4. Ascot is a social event, not an official one for her. The hand wringing by some people over her not being there was kinda silly. It’s way better that she skipped Ascot than Trooping the Colour or Garter Day.

  7. No one knows what her medical situation is, and people need to be very understanding of what she is able to do and what she isn’t. I think she is a good woman, and she and William are raising their kids with tons of love and as normal a life as they possibly can, but cancer is an unpredictable snake. Life wouldn’t be so cruel as to make William’s kids lose their mother as well, I sure hope.
