  1. This is a step towards making it illegal to be brown skinned. Amongst other things, this provision of the 14th Amendment is what let former slaves be citizens. Get rid of that, and then they and their decedents are no longer citizens.

  2. They did far worse than that. They made it so no Lower Court can challenge Donald Trump on anything. No human being in the United States has rights anymore, because if the government can take your right away and not even be challenged then that right never existed in the first place.

  6. The court really didn’t touch the birthright citizenship which is a joke. They just ruled on the injunctions.

    If you’re going to touch the injunctions on a contentious issue, shouldn’t you touch the issue itself too?

    Extremely lazy and cowardly ruling by SCOTUS.

  21. Imagine being a Supreme Court Justice *and* knowing that history will record you as a participant in the destruction of the US republic by taking a sledge hammer to our democracy.

  22. All rights are under threat now. If the president says confiscate all firearms, and you as an individual sue, and the district court puts in an injunction to stop the president from taking your firearm. Then you are safe temporarily until the merits are decided. BUT your neighbor, your spouse, etc are not and their guns can be confiscated because the injunction does NOT protect them as a class of persons similar to you. And now imagine abortion rights that are remaining and gay rights. ALL RIGHTS. And this means to get a statewide injunction, the attorney general has to sue. Now rights are based on the person who sues to stop their rights from being impacted. NOT based on the plaintiff being a representative of their class of persons, which when it comes to our fundamental rights is all Americans. We are fast approaching dictatorship

  23. As i read it, it just stops a judge having the ability to put a nationwide stop to it. An individual or state can go to court, one at a time to get a ruling on THIER particular case. The big problem is the suspension of habius corpus and money for a lawyer. If an person is whisked from home or job to another country without the ability to contact or even pay for a lawyer, all is lost. BASTARDS

    These are FEDERAL courts. Their decisions are national decisions. That’s how this works. They aren’t state courts.
