We’ve been doing this in the Rhondda for a couple of years. It’s no big deal. I put hardly any waste in the black bin bag because I take all my soft plastics to the supermarket when I do my weekly shop. And that was mostly what I was throwing in the black bags.
If you were a reform candidate all you have to do is sit back with a brandy and cigar and read this forum. 🤦
soft plastics pile up way too fast
If they use their recycling/food/green bins there is nothing to rot!
Although having to use a plastic sack instead of just putting the vacuum cleaner contents straight in the wheelie bin is a bit of a pain, all we have in the black bag is vacuum dust and a small bag of non recyclable rubbish. If you sort it properly there’s no issue.
Resident of Ceredigion here.
I was taking stuff down to the council recycling centre at Glan yr Afon and was told the council were thinking of closing one of the depots in the county either Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Lampeter or Llanarth. They claim more people recycle at home so there’s no need for 4 recycling sites in Ceredigion.
Speaking just for the Aber depot, it’s always busy there, often queuing and they require ID to enter (You must be a resident of the county)
I have no clue how they will accomplish this in Aber
lots of flats dump bags in communal sacks for collection, and lots of houses dump them together in piles
also
quick reminder Ceredigion put up council tax by going-on 10%
