  6. Where would it even end? Lets say your grandparents were born to immigrants and they had birthright citizenship. Then they had your parents and you. Do you all lose citizenship? Just your grandparents? Just the people born to immigrants from non-white countries?

    The best thing about birthright citizenship is that it guarantees that that 2nd class is short-lived.  Parents may be exploited but their children (or maybe their children’s children) won’t be.

  35. Sotomayor is definitely showing us a path forward with her hypotheticals. If there can be no more national injunctions then local ones still stand. So go to the local federal courts and sue for gun control, sue for abortion rights, sue for universal healthcare, sue for higher income taxes on the wealthy and corporations. If the result only applies in the jurisdiction where the suit is brought, at least it would be the right result for everyone living in that jurisdiction.

  36. These rulings are LEGITIMATELY unhinged, and are a direct threat to the fabric of this country.

    This ruling cannot be reasoned with by any logical human being. This is entirely an attempt to keep this administration in power, and literally nothing else. The Supreme Court basically just destroyed the entire point of the court system’s checks and balances by voting against themselves.

    What the actual fuck, America?
