I have a booked a train trip from Strasbourg to Munich via OMIO. Today I've received an email from DB informing me that due to a change in the timetable my original itinerary is no longer available and that I could use my ticket on any other trains. However I have a couple of questions after looking at the email and the DB app:
1) Which part of the trip is the one that was changed? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
2) Where in the app can I find alternative connections? I also can't seem to find that option.
3) Could I simply find any other route to Munich and just climb on the train and show my ticket? Or do I need to book something online?
Thank you all, I'm not sure if I'm just being a dumb tourist or if these informations are actually hard to find and understand

1. I don’t think the specific part that changed is displayed. The reasoning is, as the complete itinerary is no longer possible, you are supposed to just plan a completely new itinerary from start to destination. Like e.g. if the connection Karlsruhe – München changed it might now be better to change trains in a different city than Karlsruhe.
2. You just search for a connection on the main screen of the app, but instead of booking, there is the option to just save / memorize the itinerary.
3. Yes, just hop on any train in the correct direction. It can even be a completely different route if that is the best option for you to reach the destination. No need to book anything, just show your ticket if someone asks.
But your seat reservations will be gone, of course, if you take a different train. If you still want reserved seats on the alternative trains, you need to book a new reservation (it is possible to book a reservation without a new ticket). You can later on get a reimbursement for old seat reservations that you couldn’t use due to the changed schedule.
