When Meghan Markle’s Netflix show dropped earlier this year, her outfit choices became a big topic of discussion among several T&C staffers, including myself. I remember her t-shirts, in particular, came up several times in conversations, which led our very own Emily Burack down the investigative rabbit hole. One of the shirts Emily was able to identify from her research was a tee from Bleusalt. Being that I also love Meghan’s favorite Brochu Walker crewneck sweater and go-to AYR skinny jeans, I figured I’d give the tee a try as well.
Reader, I can report back Meghan has completely influenced me again. The aptly-named Perfect T is a classic crewneck top with a slightly fitted silhouette that hits just above the hips. It’s sustainably crafted mostly from TENCEL™ Modal with some spandex, resulting in a buttery soft, crisp, stretchy, and very breathable piece.
I want to note that this isn’t your typical lightweight basic white tee (like my go-to from Buck Mason), rather the Perfect T is definitely a bit loftier and not flimsy in the least, making it easier to dress up, which is no easy feat. I say that because I find that no matter how much I try to dress up most T-shirts, they somehow still always make me look more casual than I want to be. But with this Bleusalt tee? I’d have no problem wearing it to the office or under a blazer for a fancy date night. And because of its stretchier material, the shirt looks great tucked into skirts and pants—no rumples in sight. But if you want to wear it casually with a pair of jeans and sneakers? The fit offers that Goldilocks “just right” sweet spot—it’s not too loose or fitted, nor is it too long or cropped.
I recently packed the tee for a trip to London and found myself wishing I had a few more with me because I so wanted to wear it every day. And trust me, if I did have two or three more in my suitcase, I would have forwent my dresses in favor of the tees for the remainder of the trip. They’re that good. I guess I have to stock up on a few more now. Good thing Amazon Prime Day is just around the corner…
