Hi everyone,
I’m planning a road trip through Poland with my friends (the route is shown in the image).
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for places worth visiting along the way—or even a bit off the route (we’re flexible and happy to adjust it).
We’re interested in all kinds of spots: historical sites, scenic views, unique landmarks, or any hidden gems you might know about.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance!

Visit Katowice
Whats there to see in East (Łomża Suwałki)?
dont stop, keep going
Świdnica
Consider Kraków!! It’s truly, cultural capital of Poland.
Krosno and Rzsezow. I spent almost half a year in those areas. Gorgeous and wonderful.
Not too far from krakow.
Świdnica
Do you accept any slight fluctuations to the route planned?
There are just some very interesting places when you move one big city away this way or that way.
When you leave S3 in Lubawka go to [Chełmsko Śląskie](https://www.facebook.com/chelmskosl). There you can try the delicious local gingerbread, the recipe of which is almost 100 years old. And you will see there wooden weavers’ houses from year 1707. When in Wrocław, let me know, I can show you around.
It requires going for an extra mile, but [Kazimierz Dolny](https://nawakacje.eu/kazimierz-dolny/) is a nice little city for a short sightseeing 😀
Places that I believe are unique on globally and really worth visiting if you are in Poland:
– Wieliczka – an amazing salt mine with salt sculptures and more – I don’t think there is anything like it anywhere else
– Auschwitz-Birkenau – a very sad but important memorial of WW2 attrocities commited by nazi Germany
# 1. Białystok
* **Branicki Palace** – “Versailles of Podlasie”
* **Podlasie Museum** and **Orthodox churches** – reflect the region’s multicultural history.
# 2. Warszawa (Warsaw)
* **Old Town (UNESCO)** – rebuilt after WWII, very atmospheric.
* **Łazienki Park** with Chopin’s monument.
* **POLIN Museum** or **Rising Museum** – modern, engaging museums.
# 3. Łódź
* **Piotrkowska Street** – long promenade with restaurants and murals.
* **Manufaktura** – shopping and cultural center in an old factory.
* **EC1 Łódź** – science and technology center in a power plant.
# 4. Wrocław
* **Old Town & Market Square** – colorful, lively place.
* **Wrocław Dwarfs** – look for the famous figurines.
* **Hydropolis** – museum all about water.
* **Ostrów Tumski** – historical heart of the city.
# 5. Wałbrzych (nearby)
* **Książ Castle** – third largest castle in Poland, very scenic.
* **Palm House** – exotic plants and architecture.
You guys have to visit Kraków
Beautiful city, amazing food and very clean overall
Zamość mate. Lovely town square. Also, do NOT sleep on Mazury, absolutely lovely lakes to row down.
Tczef
Skipping elbląg is a sin
Wałbrzych!! Książ castle – one from the biggest in Europe. And historical Książ horse stable.
You want honest advice about Poland from a frequent visitor?
Start a list of what interests you by city. And start getting to all of them.
Personally I like Warsaw as much as I like Gdańsk as much as I like Krakow as much as I like Karpacz.
Every single area has something new and excellent.
Not to mention I’ve never once had a single issue in any city with people.
If for example I go to Chicago or Dublin I’ve had people try and start a fight or seen people outside drunk starting shit with anyone. Not to mention I’ve watched people robbed in broad daylight in “safe areas”
Polish people who haven’t left Poland often don’t know what they have.
Can’t tell you how many times I heard “YOU came to POLAND for CHRISTMAS?!?!?!? WHY?!?!?!”
As if America has some sort of legendary Christmas.
Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Podkowa Leśna
No joke if you like good food and brick buildings visit Łódź
It’s a beautiful city with a suprisingly calm and interesting city centre along with world famous brick buildings such as the manufaktura shopping mall and księży młyn
If you have the time etc.
See Krakow. There’s also the salt mine at Wieliczka and Auschwitz near Katowice. All those are rather W and East of your route but def worth seeing. I’d skip Czestochowa unless you’re uber-Catholic.
Then head North to Warsaw after that. Plenty to see in Warsaw especially the old town and nearby stuff.
Gdansk is also a beautiful city but that’s rather out of the way on your trip.
Łódź
Dolny śląsk is absolutely beautiful, especially near the czech border
Try some good white powders in here
