  1. I feel like this is how domestication of dogs probably started.

  2. Look at the white paws- foxes throw all sorts of colour mutations when their brains start to change as they become domesticated. This fox has gone a step towards being a pet.

  3. Also have a resident forest dog – they keep a polite distance but stay well fed. This is our agreement.

  4. She’s absolutely adorable. Please give her some water at the very least

  5. Congratulations, you have been chosen as part of the new fox distribution system
    Enjoy your new pet

  6. Ahhh she’s lovely. How lucky you are to have a visiting fox .

  7. When you realise Foxes and every Lupine is basically Evolutions answer to Dog/Cat mix.

  8. It’s cute, but it is and should remain, a wild and unpredictable animal. 👍

  9. Foxes never look real to me. They always look like a fairytale character that’s come to life and got lost in the real world.

  10. My grandpa had a pet fox. Found it when it was a baby its mother had been shot. It was called Hamish

Edit I forgot the best part. There’s no way my granny would have willingly taken a fox in as a pet. He managed to convince her it was just a strange looking puppy 😂 I don’t know how, she was a clever woman, he just had the gift of the gab, and by the time it was clearly and obviously a fox everyone was too attached and Hamish was allowed to stay.

  11. Advice is to not feed healthy wild foxes
and no food laying about outside as they are opportunists,
You can get those nets for doorways which might keep them out

  12. As nice as she is, please do not leave food out for her or unnecessarily habituate her to humans. Human food is unhealthy for foxes, they don’t need any of the stuff humans will leave out for them (there are people who will tell you to leave out jam sandwiches for foxes which is revolting). They also do not need to believe that humans are good to be around – whilst most are, there are some people who will harm foxes and it’s not safe to unnecessarily habituate them to your presence.

Leave some water out if you like since it’s disgustingly hot but overall it is by far the safest and healthiest thing for her to allow her to be a wild animal and hunt for her own food. For your own safety and hers, please don’t approach her unless you absolutely must, and for the love of god do not attempt to pet her. She is fluffy and cute, yes, but she is *not* a dog.

  13. Don’t feel bad. Foxes have a habit of pissing on everything, and as soon as the smell is there it isn’t going away anytime soon.

Can you imagine the whag and fox piss smell? That would be hell

  14. I wouldn’t kill to have an opportunity to show it to my kids, but lesser crimes are definitely on the table.
