    The best comparison I could find without much research is this table, that lists the the average daily wage, the price of bread and beer in Groschen, of which you have 10. A liter of beer for example would have been 566 Groschen in 1963.

  4. There was this grocery store (Greislerei) near out school where they sold single candies for one of these.

    We mostly used them to play. Like they were so light you could make them float on water if you placed them carefully.

    They always ended up in a jar at home that once a year was brought to the bank.
