‘Allow children to marry?’ What kind of a sick medieval village society model is the whole issue based?
eesti nordic 🦾🇪🇪😎👍
When you go black, don’t come back. Islandi protsenti küll halb vaadata, selline traditsioonide ja ajalooga puhas maa ei vajaks küll mingeid ruberoide.
See kaart on bullshit. Kommentaarides juba lingiti päris pealkirjaga kaart.
The cited source link doesn’t work, but seeing that it’s supposed to be an EC source I assume this is from the 2019 Special Eurobarometer (couldn’t find anything else that it could be). If that is the case, this is not at all how the question was formulated. The actual formulation was:
*”Regardless of whether you have children or not, please tell me, using a scale from 1 to 10, how comfortable you would feel if one of your children was in a love relationship with a person from one of the following groups*?” And then “*black person*” was one of the subcategories asked about.
Still not the most joyful result, but saying “I would not *allow* my child to marry a black person” is very different from saying “On as scale of 1 (not at all comfortable) to 10 (totally comfortable) I would my comfort lever would be lower than 10”. Potential reasons for discomfort could also be anything from blatant racist attitudes to (perhaps somewhat ironically) well-meaning worry about the racism the couple’s future children could come to face.
It could of course be that I just misinterpreted which source this is supposed to be citing – in that case please correct me!.
