Prince William and Prince Harry’s close bond was refreshed in the public’s memory as a letter was put on display as the warring siblings continue rift.
King Charles’s sons may have been estranged for nearly three years, but the brothers were united once again in bittersweet memorabilia honouring their late mother, Princess Diana.
On Thursday, a high-profile auction, Princess Diana’s Style & A Royal Collection, kicked off which put around 200 iconic pieces of Diana on sale. According to a report by The Sun’s Matt Wilkinson, before the auction even began, hundreds of thousands of dollars in bids had already been placed” on the beloved items.
Just the clothes at the auction are set to net over three million dollars. Apart from the dresses, “handwritten letters and a birthday card signed by William, Harry and Diana were also for sale”.
It was previously reported that William and Harry could secretly partake in the bidding as they want to keep special pieces belonging to their mother close.

William and Harry had made a joint effort in the past to honour the legacy of their mother by holding an auction to sell Diana’s famous dresses to support the charities she favoured. It was William’s idea and it took place back in 1997.
Julien’s Auctions executive director Martin Nolan had previously revealed to Hello! that there is a possibility that William and Harry would get involved in the event, directly or indirectly.
“I would expect that they are tempted and expect that they do and expect they have representatives who buy on their behalf,” he told the outlet. “And that’s understandable. I would too.”
Another report suggested that Harry now “deeply regrets” auctioning off his mother’s things. The insider said that he is on a “mission” to reclaim Diana’s possessions and his wife Meghan Markle is “encouraging it”.
It remains to be seen if Harry was able to acquire some items from the auction, or maybe a letter that also holds memories of a bond he once had with elder brother, Prince William.
