Hapoel Tel Aviv has already made significant moves as it prepares for its debut EuroLeague season.
So far, the club has officially announced the arrival of Itay Segev and confirmed the departures of Joe Ragland and Marcus Foster. While the roster is far from complete, the club’s management continues working behind the scenes to provide head coach Dimitris Itoudis with the tools he needs.
In that context, a report from One reveals that the Reds are showing interest in Chris Jones, the point guard of Valencia, who is no stranger to Israeli basketball, having played for Maccabi Tel Aviv for one season.

Jones has been with the Bats since 2022, helping them reach the EuroCup semifinals last season, where they were eliminated by none other than Hapoel Tel Aviv. The American guard averaged 10.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game in Europe’s second-tier competition.
Against Hapoel in the semis, he posted 13 points and six assists in the first game, eight points and four assists in the second, and missed the decisive third game because of injury.
Although Jones is under contract with Valencia for another season, reports from Spain suggest that the club might consider accepting a buyout, potentially clearing the way for the Israeli side to make its move.
Beyond Valencia and Maccabi, Jones has EuroLeague experience with Asvel and has also played for Bursa, Belgian side Union, and Basel in Switzerland.
It’s worth noting that Hapoel has already reached agreements in principle with Elijah Bryant and Daniel Oturu, while also exploring the possibilities of adding Ty Odiase, Vasilije Micic, and even Filip Petrusev.
Many names continue to surface as the ambitious club, led by owner Ofer Yannay, builds its squad for the historic season ahead.
