We could resolve the problem by adding a clause that says something like “European defense expenses will be an 80% made in European defense manufacturers”.
Doing just what Trump says is not good for Europe nor our defense.
They just want to sell weapons and control us.
They even destroyed European infrastructures (Nordstream) just for us to be dependant on them instead of Russia.
NATO is a criminal organization. We need real European defense, based in our armies, airbus, dassault, etc. de-link Santa Bárbara from General Dynamics, 0 dependence of usa. Regain sovereignty.
USA wants us weak so they can control us. They are not our allies.

You’re looking at it wrong. Greater defense spending leads to greater strategic autonomy. To make this more affordable in today’s age however, we wouldn’t just need to integrate our militaries, we need to merge them.

Why don’t we just invade Spain? They’re currently defenceless.
5% is excessive when the only threat is russia wich hardly can fight of its much weaker neighboors.
I dont see anything wrong with the 2% (it might still be a little to much), but at this level is more than enough to give europe autonomy and deterrance.
