If you’re name’s Peter Parker you’re about to get lucky
Sorry pal, time to set fire to the car and walk away
Burger bite with legs
Fairly sure that’s a green orb weaver, also known as a cucumber spider 🙂
Let him have it and just buy yourself a new car.
Cucumber orb weaver
It’s a Yankee Spider. Just did 23 and me and is looking to connect to it’s roots
Awesome looking guys these. Orb weavers are very cool.
You should check out a Guy called Collie Ennis on Twitter and Instagram. He has helped me identify many an insect. He knows everything about the things!
This looks like a Marbled Orb-Weaver (Araneus marmoreus), specifically one of the yellow or greenish color variants. These spiders are part of the orb-weaver family (Araneidae), which are known for their rounded abdomens and beautiful web designs.
⸻
🕷️ Identification Features:
• Bright yellow or green bulbous abdomen, often with subtle marbling.
• Orange or tan legs with spines.
• Pale head (cephalothorax) with a cluster of small eyes.
⸻
⚠️ Is it dangerous?
Nope! These spiders are not dangerous to humans. They’re non-aggressive and very unlikely to bite. Even if they did, their venom is harmless — at most, a bite might feel like a mild bee sting (if you’re even sensitive).
⸻
🌿 Behavior and Habitat:
• Builds large circular (orb) webs, often in gardens, woods, or on buildings.
• Common in late summer and fall, but can be found at other times depending on location.
• Beneficial to the environment — they help control insect populations.
⸻
✅ Summary:
Harmless, helpful, and kind of cool-looking. No need to worry — you can safely admire it or gently move it outdoors if it’s in your way.

Do you have a moment to talk about doG?
Aieeee…. The car would be staying there, I’m afraid. I’d be walking home.
That’s Greg. Sound lad.
Good lad, wearing the high-vis while out walking around traffic. The RSA would be proud!
r/spiders is a good spot for questions like this as well.
Jaysus it’s the spiders from mars!!! *runs away*
The Araniella cucurbitina, also called Cucumber Orb Weaver.
That’s just a spider with a lemon biscuit.
Found one of those badboys on my own car last week. Are we being invaded?
I had those little fellows nesting in the outside mirror of my car, when I had a car. They used to have herds of little babies!
Are they Irish or ex pats?
BYE
Look at that whimsical Legend of Zelda-ass spider.
