You could try calling them on the phone, but expect a long wait.

I think it’s impossible these days. Last time I had an issue I kept typing the word agent and any combination of phrases I could think of to connect me and it never did. On a positive note, I just got one of the three 400€ compensations owed to me by Finnair today. I took the cash over the gift card because I’ll never use their shitty service again!
Yesterday I waited for about 5-6 hours before getting connected to an agent. So just stay in the chat and wait. You can send a message every couple of hours to make sure the chat didn’t bug out.
Been platinum for over 10 years. Last 3 their support went to hell. Is bad beyond bad.
I started flying others as primary. And onky finnair if suitable not as my preffered airline.
Finnair has completely shat the bed with the endless strikes. I’d recommend avoiding them whenever possible.
If you after all would get connected to an agent, it will be just some bulgarian dude who uses google translate to communicate, not help at all. 😀
Call early in the morning or after midnight !
I had the same flight date as your parents, I received an sms telling me that my flight is cancelled, and before I know I spent hours waiting in the same chatline too with no success. The next day I decided to wake up very early in the morning and immediately call. I could get in touch with an agent in less than 2 minutes. The English line is actually 24h and you could call anytime (my friend tried at 11pm).

From what I have read recently it’s 3-4 hours on the chat at best. 1.5-2 hours on the phone.
